In this role, you will be responsible for all operations of Greenwich Hospital Tumor Registry and coordination of the maintenance activities and accreditation visits of the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer and other cancer affiliations as designated. As the Cancer Coordinator, you will provide education and support to Oncology Program Director, physicians and cancer program staff on compliance requirements of the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer (ACOS COC) approval program for hospital cancer programs. Additional responsibilities include ongoing maintenance and compliance program with the ACOS COC standards for approval in the Comprehensive Community Cancer Program category. EDUCATION: Two years of college with courses in anatomy, physiology, clinical medicine and medical terminology. Formal training in tumor registry operations, staging and coding, minimum of 2 years experience required. CTR (Certified Tumor Registrar) required. EXPERIENCE: Familiarity and experience in ACOS Accreditation process. Proficiency in SEER and AJCC TNM Staging and ICD-03 coding. Computer skills necessary to maintain and utilize cancer registry software program. MS, Word and Excel proficiency. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and staff. Able to promote and maintain COC standards, facilitate cancer committee, regulatory submissions, survey prep and submissions. HOURS: Monday – Friday, 8a-4:15p. No weekends or holidays.
